Aims & Scope

Dance and Theory (D&T) is a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal for dance scholarship, published by the Department of Dance Theory, School of Dance, Korea National University of Arts. Reflecting our department’s interdisciplinary approach and wide range of subjects, including aesthetics, anthropology, history, science, and arts management, Dance and Theory aims to engage with academic debates on dance and address cross-disciplinary research with a dance perspective. In so doing, the journal intends to stimulate dance discourses across its artistic, educational, and theoretical fields.

We invite research articles up to 8000 words in length. Some of the potential topics include:

• Dance history
• Dance philosophy and aesthetics
• Dance anthropology
• Traditional dance
• Ethnochoreology
• Folk dance study
• Dance sociology
• Cultural studies of dance
• Medicine and science in dance
• Anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and nutrition in dance
• Fitness, wellness and health promotion in dance
• Psychological aspects of dance
• Arts management and policy
• Dance research methods and methodologies

Peer Review Policy

All research articles for this journal will undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and, dependent on editorial assessment, anonymized refereeing by at least three anonymous referees in the field.

Publication Fee

There are no submission fees or page charges for this journal.

Manuscripts shall be submitted to our online submission system http://submission.dancetheory.kr.
